The existence of the Parliament of the Republic of Hindu College, with Symposium Society serving as the Parliamentary Society, underscores a structured and democratic approach to student governance. Symposium, being tasked with the responsibility of conducting debates and interviews for candidates vying for the esteemed position of Prime Minister within this parliamentary framework, assumes a pivotal role in the electoral process. The symposium's deliberate efforts to put candidates in challenging positions cultivate an environment that demands not only eloquence but also a profound understanding of the intricacies inherent in the responsibilities of a Prime Minister.

This approach empowers the electorate to discern beyond rhetoric, fostering an environment where the selection of the Prime Minister is based on merit, substance, and a demonstrated capacity for astute decision-making.

PM DEBATES

The Annual fest of The Symposium Society, Hindu College is the intermix of panel discussions, talks, lectures and seminars by eminent personalities and the persons who are affect by the issues discussed. The fest in accordance to the tagline of our society touches all the horizons of research, ideation and deliberation and provides a holistic approach towards the issue at hand by understanding, deliberating and searching for solutions. It is a mix of learning and improving your knowledge and be the young intellectuals that we all strive to be.

DARBAR

Hindu Darbar is a bilingual group discussion which is open for all the students of the Hindu College. The Darbar holds an informal meeting wherein all the students of the college are invited. Here the society proceeds by asking the students of the college about the grievances that they have against the administration or the student body. The society also asks the students about the general issues or the problems that they go through in the college. It inquires about the various things in the college that the students like and about the steps taken by the administration or the student body that has helped in the growth of not only the college but also the students. The discussion lasts for about an hour.

DOCUMENTARY SCREENINGS, GROUP PRESENTATIONS AND DISCUSSIONS

The Documentary Screening is a captivating and interesting segment of the Symposium Society. It caters to the displaying of motion pictures or short movies essentially with a hidden message. Watching the screening together make the members of the society grasp insightful messages. Discussion follow the screening and it thrives on the flow of constructive ideas and new thoughts.

Group discussions : An affair where the members of the society indulge in a comprehensive discussion about a particular topic. The speakers are the members of the society who exchange their ideas and opinions with well presented facts and make sure that their information has been communicated effectively

Presentations are an important and impactful activity undertaken by the Symposium Society. The members of the society adopts this effective way of communication to put forward their viewpoints in the form of a slideshow or demonstration.

The role of Central Councillor at Hindu College holds significant importance, serving as a vital link between the college and the university. This position entails representing the college within the university students' union, highlighting its pivotal role. Symposium, through its rigorous interview process for Central Councillor candidates, underscores its commitment to ensuring thorough assessments of individuals seeking to advocate for the college at the university level.


Symposium's involvement in interviewing both Central Councillor and Prime Minister candidates reflects its dedication to cultivating university representatives equipped with deep understanding, articulate communication, and strategic thinking abilities. This process ensures that elected representatives not only grasp the college's issues but also effectively articulate and champion concerns within the broader university landscape.


PM & CC INTERVIEWS

Coloquiums sessions are an interesting and important part of The Symposium Society which includes monthly talks and lectures by eminent personalities on different socio-political and intellectual topics providing knowledge to all the members of the society and the students of Hindu College hoping to improve educational discourse within the student community resulting in healthy and fruitful discussions and ideas.

The last colloquium session was graced by Mr. Raj Kamal Jha, Chief-Editor Indian Express Magazine. The topic for the session was The Changing Definitions of Journalism and Its New Challenges in a Democracy
